Trinidad & Tobago Red Cross Society gets international grant for communications technology upgrade

The TTRCS has won a prestigious award from the Empress Shoken Fund, now in its 100th year. The project involves the use of teleconferencing equipment to improve the connectivity of the entire TTRCS system. The new system will reduce travel between the islands, but increase participation at all levels of the National Society. It will also be used to extend the reach of meetings, training, seminars & workshops. The geography of our two islands and the distance between them sometimes makes it challenging and expensive to communicate, interact and to coordinate operations. This project will improve the National Society's communications infrastructure and contribute to faster and better response to critical needs during our normal operations and in times of disaster. The value of the award is CHF 19,108 or a little over 133 Thousand TT Dollars.
